Merit Badge College

MeritBadgeSashThis is a reminder that all 2014 Merit Badge College course selections and payment are due at the Nov. 7 troop meeting. Mr. Clausing will be “camped” out at Mr. Reynold’s front door to collect your permission slip and registration form prior to the meeting. Please “Be Prepared”.

IF you are not attending the Nov. 7 troop meeting (because you may not be attending the Nov. trip) AND plan to attend 2014 MBC, please email Mr. Clausing by Nov. 7 with your course selections.

The list of 2014 prerequisites have still NOT been updated. Stay tuned….

Mr. Clausing plans to register all Troop 2 Scouts for their merit badge selections over the weekend of Nov 9-10. If he doesn’t receive your slip on Thursday OR if doesn’t get a reply from you by Thursday with your selections, he will not register you for MBC.

2014 Dues & November Permission Slip Due This Thursday

Because Troop 2 is not meeting Oct. 31, permission slips and payment for the November sporting clays trip are due this Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.  If you can’t make the meeting on Thursday, you must let Mr. Livingstone know via email by that date. Download the permission slip.

2014 dues must be paid to council by Nov.1. If you have not paid the $90/scout ($40 dues+$50 Scout activity fee), please pay this Thursday as well. Scout will not be permitted to attend future trips if payment for 2014 is not received. For those paying the lower amount because of popcorn sales, we will deduct the activity fee from your scout’s Scout Account fund.

Bike Clinic at Thursday’s Meeting

icon_bikingThis coming Thursday Mr. Liss will be having a bike inspection for anyone going mountain biking on the September trip. Scouts going biking on the trip must bring their mountain bikes to the meeting.

From Mr. Liss:

For Thursday’s bike inspection, I will have tools to take care of minor adjustments that will be needed to make your bike safe to ride for the mountain biking trip.  Since we will have just a short period of time available on Thursday, and an estimate of between 10 and 20 bikes to inspect, we’ll only be able to address safety issues and minor adjustments.
I will not have any parts (tubes, cables, tires, etc.) available to do any significant repairs.  So, if you know that your bike needs new parts or a major repair, please try to arrange to get those taken care of yourself or through a bike shop.  Note that some bikeshops have a backlog of repairs during this time of year, so be sure to plan accordingly.

You can call Mr. Liss with bike questions (see his email for phone number).

Remember that the permission slip for the September trip is due this Thursday. You can print a copy from the Weekend Trips page.
